Isabelle Brouzes

Both performer and teacher, Isabelle Brouzes discovered music through playing the cello.

She soon embarked on the study of musicology, devoting herself to early instrument practice. Since then, she has specialized in historical viola da gamba and contrabass performance practices. She graduated from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in 2012, before completing postgraduate courses in Versailles and the Paris Conservatory. She studied with Philippe Pierlot, Wieland Kuijken, Bob van Asperen, Emmanuelle Guigues, Mieneke van der Velden, Marianne Muller, and Richard Myron, among others.

Her interest in conveying her passion to others led her to obtain a State Diploma in Artistic Teaching at the CEFEDEM in Lorraine, as well as to create her own viola da gamba class. She now teaches at the conservatories of the Dinan Agglomeration and in Vannes.

A member of various professional chamber ensembles and orchestras, she performs both early music repertoires and jazz and electro-acoustic music in France and abroad.
